Wegman's Stores Get OK To Sell Beer

You still can't buy the kitchen sink at Wegman's...but you can cop a six-pack.

The Liquor control Board gave licenses to six stores, including outlets in Dicson city and Wilkes-Barre Township, to sell beer from it's cafes, just like in bars and restaurants.

The suds selling doesn't sit well with Dave Shipula.  He owns a distributorship in Wilkes-Barre, not far from Wegman's.  He's head of the Malt Beverage Distributorship Association of Pennsylvania.  The organization has filed suit to stop the supermarket sales.
