Democratic state representative Frank Andrews Shimkus feels confident that victory in the Democratic race in the 113th Legislative District is in the hands of the folks who count the votes...literally.
He wants the write-ins counted by hand...and he feels that when it's over he'll be the winner. That would put him in good shape in November. Democrat Kevin Murphy is the unofficial winner on that side of the ballot. Murphy's name was on the ballot.....Shimkus's was removed because of problems with his nominating petitions. He staged a write-in campaign on the Democrat and Republican ballots...and won on the GOP side.
A court-en-banc will hear Shimkus's petition tomorrow morning.
