I like her.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who's John McCain's pick for Vice President, is a great pick in my opinion.
She reminds me of an amalgamation of a lot of the women in my life. From my wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister's in law, there's a little bit of something in her that I can find in them. And it's all good.
I like how she can take charge. I like that she's a mother of 5. I like how she battled corruption, in her own party. I like how her life isn't perfect. I like how she's pro-life. I liked how she mentioned property taxes in her first speech, like she isn't too far removed from us regular people. I like how her Democrat husband is a commercial fisherman and snowmobile racer. I like how she's a hockey mom. I like how she climbed up the political ladder and that she's not too high up to forget what it's like down below. I like how she's not from Washington, D.C. I like that she hunts and fishes. I like how she makes the Democrats crazy by being all of the above. I like that because of who she is, she is making them call her names. I like how Alaska has now become the most unimportant state in the union because she's the Governor of it...like Delaware is anything to write home about.
About the only thing I'm not too crazy about are the names she and her husband gave their kids. Track, Bristol (she's got the NASCAR vote there), Willow, Piper, and Trig. WTF?!
But it's Alaska. They're a little different there. I can live with that. |
